In the period since Matlock water Polo Club restarted their activities, as the restraints of the Covid ‘lock down’ were slowly lifted, the club has gone from strength to strength.
The club restarted their training sessions with juniors training on a Monday evening from 19:00 to 20:00, this section has expanded significantly and there are now regularly more than 25 juniors at the weekly sessions. At the same pool time the club has successfully started a session in the teaching pool for ‘mini’ players.
Training for intermediates, ladies and seniors restarted on a Wednesday evening and, as attendance has also increased the session has been extended to 20:00 to 22:00
For many years the club has successfully competed in the local Water polo league (the Nottinghamshire Water polo league, covering Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire).
The league restarted formal competitions in February 2022 with a full program of League and Knock Out cup competitions and Matlock have already completed a number of matches in the senior League.
In order to further boost the senior playing sides for both men and ladies the club has organised a series of free taster sessions, for further details please see the notes provided below and/or contact the club via the message service on this web site.
The club have also committed to organising a tournament to be held at the ARC centre starting at 16:15 on the 9th of July, we are inviting mini polo and junior teams and intend to field two Junior and one mini team in the event.
