The Matlock Water Polo club has a strong tradition of touring, this began with a trip to Cornwall where we played against the local team in Newquay’s outdoor sea pool, a very cool introduction to touring!
Utilising the experience gained by the club coach and club Secretary who joined European tours with Nottingham Swimming Club, the club organised a series of tours to the International Tournament in Hasselt Belgium. The tours proved very successful and popular with strong friendships being forged with many of the Hassalt Club Members, resulting in them sending a team to the Open Water tournament that the club helped to organise.
As the number of senior players has reduced the club has organised less demanding tours to the Isle of Man and again strong friendships between the clubs have been gorged.
